BREAST CANCER
Breast cancer is the most common cancer among women. The chance that a woman will develop invasive breast cancer in her lifetime is about 1 in 8. The chance of developing breast cancer increases with age. Approximately 8 out of 10 diseases are found in women over 55, but with a constant tendency towards rejuvenation. One of the main problems with breast cancer in the country is the high rate of late-diagnosed cases with this disease, which has not changed in the last 20 years.
Currently, every fourth woman diagnosed with a malignant disease in Bulgaria has breast cancer. The number of new cases in the country increased over the years from 2031 in 1980 and reached 4337 new cases in 2021.
Our data are presented for all breast cancer patients, patients of all ages, with all possible stages of the disease and for all types of treatment undertaken by the patients before starting treatment with KATRAPS. Since this includes both early-stage and terminally ill patients, patients treated with chemotherapy and radiotherapy, but also untreated patients for various reasons (cardiac and other systemic diseases, rejection, allergies, etc.), we believe that this analysis is as statistically average as possible for breast cancer patients treated with KATRAPS for between 1 and more than 5 years The number of breast cancer patients followed this month is 339.
More than 33.3% of our patients live with this diagnosis and have been with us for over 20 years.
