KATRAPS THE BULGARIAN VACCINE AGAINST CANCER
MISSON
The mission of the KATRAPS team is to restart the human body's immune system to its pre-tumor state using harmless methods.
KATRAPS is a biological product based on the well-known BCG vaccine, which has been in use for over 100 years. It is specially prepared using a unique combination of live vaccine, killed vaccine, and filtrate. This specific and innovative preparation method prevents the development of immunity against tuberculosis while stimulating antitumor immunity.
History of Katraps
Immunothrapy is the latest and most advanced method for treating cancer. The history of immunotherapy and prevention actually dates back to the 17th century, while the BCG vaccine celebrated its 100th anniversary in 2021.
There is no other such vaccine in the world that has been used for more than 100 years without being modified, maintaining its effectiveness and harmlessness for so many years after its discovery by the French scientists A.Calmet and C. Guerin of the Institut Pasteur - Paris, in 1921 .
A few years after the discovery of the BCG vaccine, its immunostimulatory effect was also proven, and for many years it has been used in medicine as an immune 'booster' under the name Freund's adjuvant." Let me know if you want a more formal, scientific, or casual tone
This very immune-stimulating effect forms the foundation of Professor Spartak Hadzhiev's discovery of an anti-cancer drug, which was awarded several invention patents from 1961 to 2012.
For the first time in the world, Professor Spartak Hadzhiev applied the BCG vaccine to patients with lung cancer. Over many years, together with his daughter, Professor Nasya Hadzhieva, and his grandson, Associate Professor Mihail Petrov, they developed and refined this preparation under various names—F70, HD88, H96, and others—for the treatment of all types of solid tumors in humans.
BCG
The most recent evidence of the immunostimulatory effect of the BCG vaccine was demonstrated during the COVID-19 pandemic (2020–2022).
The latest evidence for the immunostimulating effect of the BCG vaccine was demonstrated in the Covid 19 pandemic (2020-2022) when it was found that people immunized with BCG all over the world got sick many times less and mildly from Covid19. So long before anti-covid vaccines were available, many medical workers were immunized with BCG to boost cellular immunity to protect them from the disease.
"If the world discovers a cure for cancer, it will be an event beyond the scale of a mere news story," reported the media when the European Patent Office and the Patent Office of the Republic of Bulgaria announced the names of the scientists recognized as inventors of the year in 2012. Professor Spartak Hadzhiev, Professor Nasya Hadzhieva, Dora Hadzhieva, Zoya Rachkovska, and Associate Professor Mihail Petrov were awarded the title of "Inventor of the Year" in the "Chemistry and Biotechnology" category. Three generations of Professor Spartak Hadzhiev’s family have contributed to the creation of the tumor treatment preparation **KATRAPS**.

Prof. Spartak Todorov Hadjiev, a nobleman at heart and a knight at heart, is one of the unforgettable founders of the Department of Microbiology at the Plovdiv Medical University. He graduated in medicine with full honors and a gold medal from the first graduating class/cursus magnus/ of the University in 1950. His encyclopedism, powerful mind, broad interests and excellent knowledge already in the first years made an impression on his teachers and therefore after graduation he was invited to assistant by the heads of three different departments. He chooses Microbiology because of the broad biological essence of this science and especially because of the problems of immunity, which in these years, and until now, are extremely important. But also very obscure and still unsolved.
